We were recently contacted to provide a valuation for insurance for a gentleman who had received a Rickenbacker guitar from the 1960’s as part of a relative’s estate.
We were happy to advise him that his guitar was in fact a quite rare 1964 Rickenbacker 345/1998RM, 3 pickup Rose Morris model. These particular guitars are highly prized by collectors especially in the United States due to their scarcity, violin style “f” sound holes, 3 “toaster” pickups and association with the Beatles and other British Invasion bands of the early to mid 1960s.
The guitar came with wonderful provenance and was in particularly good condition for its age. We were happy to inform the owner of its true market value and the significance of the guitar he had received from his relative.
