1976 Shergold Double Neck 6/12

1990’s Peter Thomas Ney Decophone Resonator
A mid to late 1990’s Resonator and another superb build by Peter Thomas Ney of Hull. Mahogany construction and superbly designed and machined aluminium soundhole covers and resonator plate. Binding is in a marvellous faux mother of pearl which adds to the effect. Happy to supply detailed photographs of this superbly designed and built instrument.

1998 Peter Thomas Ney Ampliphonic Acoustinator
One of THE great enduring mysteries of late 20th Century Guitar Building – Peter Thomas Ney was a Hull Based Luthier and it is understood worked for British Aerospace in a craft and design role. In addition to building 5 string banjos Peter produced a number of high quality replicas of early classical builders’ guitars such as Lacote. This guitar is one of his design prototypes and possibly a one off, for an Ampliphonic Acoustic Resonator that uses innovatively placed sound chambers to amplify the strings – other features include wonderful herringbone binding and a self designed and machined aluminium tailpiece. Sadly despite extensive enquiries we have been unable to trace Mr. Ney since this instrument came to us.

2018 Gibson Explorer, Antique Natural with Case
A 2018 Gibson Explorer in Antique Natural with original case and case items and inserts. The guitar and original case are in near-mint condition – a well looked after Gibson Explorer and very playable – the BB2 and BB3 pickups sound superb and this guitar has tone as well as power and image – a nice example of one of Gibson’s classic modern shape guitars.
